Pilates is a system of physical conditioning which seeks to increase the strength, flexibility and control of the body. Emphasizing the concepts of core strength and stabilization, Pilates builds flexibility, strength, endurance, and coordination.
Pilates is found in gyms and private studios the world over. People from many walks of life are enthusiastic about Pilates. Ballet companies have Pilates studios and trainers for the benefit of their dancers. Women have turned to Pilates as part of their post-partum return to fitness programs, and people with back problems have found Pilates a valuable part of their recovery and prevention routines.
Our Grace United studio is home to Pilates mat classes mornings, evenings, and Saturdays.
Monday mornings 8-9 a.m. with Paola Georgudis, formerly with Dominic Walsh Dance Theater.
Wednesday evenings from 6:30-7:30 and Saturday mornings from 10–11, with Sabrina Swayder, formerly with the Portuguese National Ballet and Staatstheater Schwerin (Germany).
Fees for classes are $15 a class and are payable directly to the instructor. Please contact the instructor directly for information about scheduling or other inquiries.
